The code students accommodation complex currently under construction in the centre of Coventry includes four interlinked tower blocks, ranging from 14 storeys to one of 23 storeys, making it the tallest new building in the city. There will be 1192 self-contained studios in the complex, scheduled for completion in September 2018. Winvic Construction was appointed as the main contractors to build the steel framed towers, with Class A1 insulation and render, plus curtain walling and brise soleil to the external elevations.
The temporary containment and weather protection solution has been provided by Godiva Access & Scaffolding of Coventry. More than 900 tonnes of scaffolding envelop the construction. Godiva chose Powerclad Debris Netting combined with Powerclad Vented Sheeting, which was digitally printed with 1.6 metre high Winvic logos for eye-catching company promotion. The sheeting was digitally printed in-house at Industrial Textiles & Plastics (ITP) of North Yorkshire, who manufactures the Powerclad range of scaffold sheeting and temporary containment materials.
Other ITP products include filter sheeting, keder sheeting, insulated sheeting, acoustic sound barriers, and temporary roof and keder sheeting.
