A social housing regeneration project in Llandudno presented a number of challenges that demanded a creative containment solution. How to minimise the impact of the regeneration works on the local community? With the occupants of the maisonette blocks still in residence while the rendering and insulation renovation works were being carried out, good light transmission and air permeability were also required.
Powerclad Vented Sheeting is an open weave material that provides high air permeability, suitable for both scaffolding and temporary fencing.
“We proposed creating a full-print building wrap effect using our vented sheeting, the first time we had used this material for this kind of project,” explained Jason Lamb, Industrial Textiles & Plastic’s UK Sales and Business Development Manager. “The end result was an expensive look at a significantly cheaper cost, as we were able to create all the artwork in-house.”
ITP is the only supplier of temporary containment sheeting in the UK with an in-house design and print facility for both large scale digital printing and flexographic drum printing. Printed Powerclad flame-retardant Scaffold Sheeting is LPCB approved.
Vented Sheeting covers for the temporary fencing panels were flexographically printed with the Wates logo, while the building image was digitally printed on 2m wide sheeting. Topping the temporary containment structure was Powerclad Vented Sheeting printed with large-scale logos for main contractor Wates and the developer, Cartrefi Conwy.
