ITP supplies flame-retardant debris netting for city office redevelopment
ITP has supplied flame-retardant debris netting for another city centre project following its use in support of an office refurbishment at Paul’s Street in Leeds.
The 20,000-square-foot, six-storey property was purchased by international insurance broker, W Denis, to provide a new flagship head office. An extensive remodelling scheme has expanded its total floor space by approximately 30% and added a rooftop terrace.
Over seen by main contractor MLC, the project includes recladding, replacing all windows, stripping out interiors and refitting to provide extremely high-quality modern offices with the latest communications and energy saving technology, meeting rooms, break out areas, gymnasium, showers and changing areas, and coffee lounge.
Leading specialist contractor, Burflex Scaffold Ltd, fitted ITP’s Powerclad Flame Retardant Debris Netting on the scaffolding to provide air permeable protection and containment. The product is unique to the market as the only netting which is independently certified to meet T62 standards in any colour, with marking at the end of each roll showing the certificate number which stays on the material. Suitable for all tube and fitting and modular scaffold systems, the netting is available in white, blue, green, red and black as standard, with other colours available on request.
ITP Account Manager, David Gilmore, said:
“The office renovation of St Paul’s Street is the kind of project which requires certified flame-retardant debris netting to minimise risk. We recommend it for all construction work, but it’s especially important for a city centre development like this, located in a built-up street with a high volume of road and pedestrian traffic. As well as supplying T62 certified netting, we also manufacture scaffold sheeting which is not only T62 certified for external use, but also T63 certified of internal use – in both plain and printed form. Our flame retardancy standards are certified by Exova Warringtonfire, one of two organisations in the UK authorised to carry out independent testing.”
