ITP supplies flame-retardant debris netting for high-rise redevelopment
ITP’s flame-retardant debris netting has been chosen for another high-rise project following its installation to provide protection and containment during the construction of a 31-storey tower of apartments at Skinner Street in Leeds.
Developer Ridgeback Group appointed Keady Construction as the main contractor overseeing the development which comprises 399 high quality apartments. Occupying a gateway location to the city centre, the site had been vacant for many years before coming back into use to provide much-needed additional housing in Leeds.
Leading specialist contractor, Crossway Scaffolding, fitted ITP’s Powerclad Flame Retardant Debris Netting on the scaffold to provide an air permeable solution. The product is the only netting on the market which has marking permanently stitched into the material with a certificate number to confirm that it is independently certified to meet T62 flame retardancy standards in any colour.
Powerclad Flame Retardant Debris Netting was supplied in blue – one of four standard colours available along with white, green, red and black. Other colours available on request.
ITP Account Manager, David Gilmore, said:
“We launched our Powerclad Flame Retardant Debris Netting in 2023 and the product has been phenomenally successful. It has become a regular fixture on high-rise development in city centres across the UK and further afield. Scaffold contractors appreciate the clarity that the certification marking on each roll provides in confirming the enhanced fire safety standards required for high-value projects. Other suppliers are less transparent about their flame-retardancy credentials. With ITP, contractors can use our products with complete confidence and peace of mind.”
ITP also manufactures scaffold sheeting which is T62 certified for external use and T63 certified for internal use, in both plain and printed form. ITP’s flame-retardant products are certified by Exova Warringtonfire, one of two organisations in the UK authorised to carry out independent testing.
