ITP supplies two flame-retardant solutions for Lloyds HQ revamp

ITP has supplied two certified flame-retardant scaffold solutions for a major revamp of Lloyds Banking Group’s iconic head office in Halifax.

Contractor Wates is overseeing a wide-ranging refurbishment of Grade II listed building at Trinity Road which was constructed between 1968 and 1974.  The renovation includes replacement of a facade curtain walling and glazing system, new level access ramp to the main entrance and remodelling of the roof with skylights introduced on the top level of the building to increase natural light.

New amenities include a cafe, library, wellbeing rooms, different work space hubs with break-out areas, changing facilities and meeting rooms. The refurbished building will accommodate Lloyds Banking Group’s entire Halifax campus, with a capacity of circa. 1,600 staff each day.

Leading specialist contractor, Crossway Scaffolding Group, wrapped the building in Powerclad scaffold sheeting with Wates branding printed at regular  intervals. The company also installed Powerclad FR debris netting on part of the scaffolding to provide air permeable protection and containment.

Powerclad scaffold sheeting has flame retardancy standards which are T62 certified for external use and T63 certified for internal use (in both plain and printed form) while Powerclad FR debris netting is unique as the only netting on the market to have labelling stitched into each roll showing the fire retardancy certificate number, enabling contractors to easily identify compliance for their project.

ITP Account Manager, David Gilmore, said:

“This office renovation is another demonstration of ITP’s ability to supply a range of containment and protection solutions which are fully compliant with fire safety regulations for high-value projects. Our flame retardancy standards  are certified by Exova Warringtonfire, one of two bodies in the UK authorised to carry out testing. We have worked with Crossway Scaffolding Group on a range of developments and they always fit our products to an exceptionally high standard. The quality of the installation at Trinity Road is outstanding.”

ITP’s range of scaffold and containment products also includes temporary fencing, vented and filter sheeting, acoustic barriers, insulated sheeting and keder and temporary roof sheeting.
