Project Description

POWERCLAD® Scaffold & containment sheeting

Salisbury Guildhall Restoration

The magnificent Salisbury Guildhall dates back to 1795 and is a much sought-after wedding, event and conference venue in the heart of Salisbury’s town centre. Essential renovations to this historic building began in Autumn 2015, presenting a challenge to Salisbury City Council: how to minimise the unsightly building works to allow uninterrupted use of the venue.

Pen Mill Scaffolding of Yeovil were tasked with providing the containment solution. The company has years of experience working on prestigous conservation projects, including Wells, Truro and Salisbury Cathedrals. Having conceived an ambitious recreation of the Grade 1 listed building’s facade, the company approached Industrial Textiles and Plastics Ltd. of Easingwold, North Yorkshire, to provide Powerclad PVC Perforated Mesh Banner, the ideal material on which to digitally print the graphics.

ITP is the only manufacturer and supplier of scaffold and perimeter fencing sheeting in the UK to offer in-house, high-quality, large-scale digital printing. “Having this print facility in-house means we can offer a quick turnaround on custom printing on a wide variety of materials. This offers fantastic marketing and promotional opportunities for our clients,” explains Marc Van Der Voort, managing director of ITP. The digital printer can print large scale images and graphics up to virtually any size. There is no minimum order for digital printing, which opens up opportunities for smaller projects and contractors.
