Spinners Yard Leeds

ITP’s Powerclad Flame Retardant Debris Netting was chosen to provide air-permeable scaffold containment for an apartment complex in Leeds city centre being built for property developer Rise Homes.

Contractor Clegg Construction is overseeing the construction of Spinners Yard, a 185-apartment build-to-rent scheme in the Mabgate area. The project is regenerating brownfield land and breathing new life into the site, providing an attractive residential development with a range of properties.

The ground floor of Spinners Yard incorporates an entrance lobby and reception, a centre management office, lounge, break out/workspaces and gym along with a plant room and enclosed parking for cars, motor bikes and cycles. Two staircases/lift areas provide access to the upper residential floors, including a residents’ garden space on the first floor and a spacious roof garden on the tenth floor. The completed development will feed into the Leeds PIPES District Heat Network.

Leading specialist contractor, Burflex Scaffolding, installed Powerclad Flame Retardant Debris Netting on the scaffold, providing a solution with flame retardancy standards which are fully compliant with the Joint Code of Practice on the Protection from Fire of Construction Sites and Buildings Undergoing Renovation (JCC). The netting includes unique identification to confirm full flame retardancy certification from an approved body, with each roll showing the certificate number which stays on the material.
