ITP supports local cricket club as it nears double century

ITP is backing grassroots sport in our local community with funding for Easingwold Cricket Club.

We’ve donated £700 to help towards the cost of equipment and other resources as the club approaches its 200th year, having been founded in 1829. ITP Managing Director, Carl Morse, visited the club to present a cheque to Chair of Easingwold Cricket Club, Ian  Connell. Located a short walk from ITP’s offices and factory, Easingwold Cricket Club runs teams for men and boys in various age groups, and is currently working to establish teams for women and girls.

Ian said: “Easingwold Cricket Club is run by dedicated volunteers with differing sporting, social and business expertise. This also extends into working with local businesses and individuals who offer volunteer and financial support through various sponsorship projects. This makes a tremendous contribution to the success of the club. Working closely with these businesses and individuals is a key part of our forward strategy as we move closer to 2029 and the bicentenary of ECC. The link with ITP cannot be underestimated –  its value financially and in kind is a key element in what we do today and also what we are planning for tomorrow.”

Carl said: “Easingwold Cricket Club is a historic part of the town, serving as a fantastic centre of community sport and a social hub for Easingwold and district residents.  For almost 200 years, it has been offering invaluable opportunities for people to get involved in cricket—especially young players taking their first steps into the game. Local grassroots clubs like this are essential for nurturing future talent. With ITP’s backing over the coming seasons, we hope Easingwold CC will help inspire and develop the next generation of stars in Yorkshire cricket. Who knows, maybe the next Joe Root or Harry Brook will emerge here!”
