ITP sound barrier passes the test to protect school from noise

Powerclad Sound Barrier acoustic sheeting was utilised to provide noise reduction for a project delivering a new swimming arena at the Solahallen sports complex in Sola, Norway.

The scheme required the demolition of the existing swimming pool building and construction of a new facility. The site is located adjacent to a school, requiring a protective barrier to shield the pupils and staff from the impact  of loud construction work.

A leading security company selected Powerclad Sound Barrier for the site perimeter due to its flame-retardant qualities and advanced acoustic performance which is independently tested to BS EN ISO 717-1. Conforming to  the fire test standards outlined in BS 476 Part 12C, the system comprises reinforced PVC with an acoustic foam insulate layer and a reinforced waterproof outer layer for weather protection. Its layered construction provides excellent heat retention.
