New homes in Hull regeneration area
Named after the city’s famous aviator, the Amy Johnson development in Hull was a major project building new homes for sale and for social rent. The scheme formed part of Hull City Council’s programme of regeneration of the area, which also included improvements to the exterior of existing homes.
Prior to construction beginning, an assessment of the site determined varying levels for NHBC required gas protection measures. A specialist installers of gas barrier membranes and waterproofing tanking systems chose two high-performance membranes produced by ITP. Protecting some of the homes is Powerbase VOC, a specially engineered multilayer composite barrier membrane with exceptional resistance to hydrocarbons and VOCs (volatile organic compounds). Powerbase Multigas 300 was also installed. The membrane includes an aluminium laminate incorporating a foil between two layers of LDPE and a reinforcing scrim.
