Putting a damper on disruption
An £8m refurbishment of a five-storey building was carried out in the heart of Manchester’s congested city centre. Reducing the environmental impact for the occupants of the surrounding buildings was an important consideration for the team. The scaffolding contractors sourced ITP’s Powerclad Sound Barrier to provide sound attenuation.
Powerclad Sound Barrier offers significant advantages over heavy, unwieldy acoustic curtain panels; the material is 40 percent lighter and supplied in sheets or panels, with brass eyelets for easy installation. In addition, Sound Barrier is flame retardant to BS 476 Part 12C, ideal for safety critical installations.
